Xin Chao! “Charity and truth have met together, and righteousness and peace have kissed each other” (Psalm 85:10)
Greetings from Country V. I am deeply grateful for the unchanging love and support of the church and members over the past year even during the difficult times of the pandemic, and I praise the God of Ebenezer for guiding me so far. I earnestly pray that God's grace and peace will always be with you this year as well as in your homes and workplaces. The homeland, with the presidential election that is coming up, seems to be paying attention to who will lead the country for the next five years. I think it's time for all of us to pray earnestly for a leader who will lead the country humbly while pursuing God's justice and kindness in a Korean society, which is divided by ideological, class, and generational conflicts.
Country V It seems to be walking the tightrope of quarantine and daily life by controlling the number of confirmed patients at a certain rate. As a result, only online worship is allowed. Since last week, schools at all levels have resumed normal classes in the morning. Close to “With Corona”, very lax quarantine measures are implemented in everyday life, but strict standards are set for religious gatherings. The mission community and the Methodist Community continue to hold weekly worship services and weekly Bible study meetings online. On the one hand, it is good that the members scattered in the provinces can be together online at the same time. However, I believe that there will always be the work and guidance of the Holy Spirit who works beyond our worries and expectations even in these difficult circumstances. Just as in the book of Acts the saints who were scattered due to the persecution of the Jerusalem church revealed the centrifugal force of the gospel, if the saints scattered to their hometowns live their evangelical lives vigorously in their respective places, it will be another opportunity for the gospel to spread. Please pray for the 16 graduates who have completed the Ezra Ministry School to be used as pillar-like workers for the expansion of the gospel and the kingdom of God.
Sabbath Year Home Ministry The petition for the sabbatical year was accepted, so we ended our ministry in Hanoi for the past 9 years and returned to Korea on the 9th of last month. Thanks to the mission organization, we were able to stay at a low cost in a temporary dormitory until June 10th. It is also the first sabbatical year in 10 years, and we are exhausted mentally and physically, so for the time being, we are going to take time off to focus on recovery. Also, I would like to take time to comfort and encourage my children who are having difficulties living in Korea so that they can settle well physically and spiritually in a life that seeks the kingdom of God and righteousness first. Please pray for our health recovery during the sabbatical year (Bill: herniated disc and spinal stenosis, gastritis/Rose: hyperthyroidism, glaucoma) and also for the lack of finances.
